About

Lester Miller is an attorney who has practiced law in Macon for 29 years. He's the founder and CEO of Game On Training, a youth program serving more than 1,200 kids at six Georgia locations. He served twice on the Bibb County School Board (three times as president) before becoming the second mayor of the consolidated Macon-Bibb government.

The mayor's role

Under the Macon-Bibb charter, the mayor is the Commission's presiding officer but not a voting member — the mayor casts a vote only to break a tie. So there's no meaningful “voting record” or yes-rate to report for this office.

The mayor's real power is executive: proposing the budget, running the county's departments, and vetoing ordinances the Commission passes — including a line-item veto on the budget. The Commission can override a veto with six of its nine votes.

The county's official minutes still list the mayor's position on the roll call for most items. Those recorded positions appear below for transparency — they are not tie-break votes, and they don't make the mayor a voting member of the Commission.
