Quick Think Competition The Quick Think Competition is held each year in second grade classrooms across the District. The competition challenges students to think about and respond to safety situations in an effort to raise awareness. This year's District level winners were Luke Cox from Heard Elementary School in first place, Angelina Wang from Springdale Elementary School in second place and Elijah Wright from Burdell-Hunt Magnet School in third place. 2017 - 2018 Custodial Department Cleanest School Awards Each school in the District undergoes biannual inspections, with an average score of 80 percent deemed as acceptable. Many of the District’s school custodial staffs go above and beyond that, with top schools scoring 99 percent or higher. The custodial staffs listed below were recognized for their scores. First Place Elementary: Northwoods Academy – 100% Middle: Howard Middle School – 99.46% High: Rutland High School – 99.79% Second Place Elementary: Hartley Elementary School – 99.88% Middle: Ballard-Hudson Middle School – 99.2% High: Northeast High School – 99.63% Third Place Elementary: Brookdale Elementary School & Skyview Elementary School (Tie) – 99.87% Middle: SOAR – 99.07% High: Hutching College & Career Academy – 99.2% Most Improved Awards Elementary: Burdell-Hunt Magnet School Middle: Weaver Middle School High: Westside High SchoolNo recorded vote.
