Introduction of New Administrators The Bibb County School District introduced the following newly appointed administrators: - Eric Bush, Executive Director of Accounting - Tilwanja Lucas, Director of School Nutrition - Steven Jones, Executive Officer - Donna Walker-Thompson, Principal, Northeast High School - Bernard Young, Principal, Southwest High School - Sally Moody, Principal, Appling Middle School - Markcus Lawson, Assistant Principal, Howard High School - Jarred Moore, Assistant Principal, Northeast High School - Adrienne Hurley, Assistant Principal, Southwest High School - Marlon Tempro, Assistant Principal, Appling Middle School - Kimberly Henson, Assistant Principal, Miller Magnet Middle School - Jarmarcus Johnson, Head Football Coach, Rutland High School Associated General Contractors of Georgia (AGC) Awards Sheridan Construction Co. and Stafford Builders & Consultants, Inc., collaborated to build the new Appling Middle School, and for that project, they received a first place award from Associated General Contractors of Georgia. Parrish Construction Co. helped build John R. Lewis Elementary School, and for that project, the company received a merit award from Associated General Contractors of Georgia. 2020 – 2021 VIP Awards Each year, the District recognizes community partners for their efforts in our schools with VIP Awards. These awards are meant to honor the businesses, groups and individuals that show dedication to our students and schools throughout the school year. The following individuals and groups were honored: - Marlies Henkel and Valeria Wimbush, VIP Volunteer Award - Metro Power, VIP Industry Award - The Douglass Theatre, VIP Partnership Award - Cynthia Busbee, Superintendent’s VIP Award Title I Distinguished Schools – Top 5 Percent of Title I Schools in Georgia Sonny Carter Elementary School and Springdale Elementary School were recognized for being Title I Distinguished Schools for scoring in the top 5 percent of the state in the most recent College and Career Ready Performance Index results.
