It was recommended that the Board: 1. Approve the appointment of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP as Interim General Counsel for the Bibb County School District, and 2. Authorize the superintendent to sign the letter of engagement and issue a purchase order for legal services and expenses. Motion to accept the recommendation was made by: Ms. Myrtice Johnson Motion seconded by: Dr. Sundra Woodford After discussion, Mr. Daryl Morton made a motion to amend the recommendation with the addendum that the Board be provided with monthly updates of how much the District has paid for Parker Poe's service under the interim agreement. Dr. Henry Ficklin seconded the amendment. After further discussion and clarification that the vote was on the proposed amended recommendation, Dr. Ficklin withdrew his second. Subsequently, Mr. Barney Hester seconded the motion to vote on the recommendation as amended.
